Adventure Is Calling You

Finally! The arrival of spring brings with it blankets of flowers and perfect weather – the kind that inspires you to embark on a new adventure. With our roadways decorated in wildflowers, now is the perfect time to pack up the car and hit the open road. Don’t know where to start? We have a few suggestions.

“Don’t Mess With Texas” isn’t just a saying down here – it’s a way of life! The state prides itself on well kept roadways, which are now lined with gorgeous displays of bluebonnets, Indian paintbrushes and a variety of other wildflowers. While there is no wrong way to experience the beauty of Texas, we’d suggest starting in Austin and heading west toward Johnson City’s Wildflower Loop. There, you’ll find gorgeous floral landscapes and countless photo opportunities. If you’re spending the weekend, crash in Fredericksburg and pay a visit to some of the wineries that have made it a hot spot for visitors.

California typically conjures up images of summer, surf and beaches – but don’t count out the beautiful drives you’ll find here during the spring. From San Francisco, head down the picturesque coastline until you reach Pacific Grove, outside Monterey. There, Lovers Point Park on 17th street is carpeted in magenta ice plants this time of year. Cap off your trip with a chocolate croissant or cream cheese danish at Pavel’s Backerei on Forest Ave. The pastries are to die for!

If your trip finds you in Los Angeles, head north to Lancaster on Route 14. Golden poppies bloom throughout the Mojave Desert region, but the Antelope Valley Poppy Reserve is home to the most impressive collection of California’s state flower – plus a bouquet of other flowers that began cropping up last month.

rent a car in miammi

Head east, and you’ll find the Tamiami Trail, which weaves through Florida’s western coast from Tampa through Sarasota, Fort Myers, Naples and the Everglades before finally arriving in Miami. For the most spectacular showing of these are orchids, head over to Fakahatchee Strand Preserve State Park—“the Amazon of North America.”

Personally, we think these views are just a little more magical through the window of an Audi A4 – but we might be biased, so don’t take our word for it!
