Top 5 Road Trips to Take This Father’s Day

This Father’s Day, go out and #DiscoverSummerBetter with Dad. We’ve selected some of the most picturesque drives across the country that are conveniently located near one of our 23 locations. So let Dad sit back and relax while you drive one of our Audi A4s or Q5s and take in the sights – although we won’t blame your Dad if he wants to get behind the wheel of a Silvercar instead.

From SFO: Take A Trip Up The Northern Pacific Coast

Start your trip from Silvercar San Francisco, which is conveniently located about 17 miles from the Golden Gate Bridge. Drive across the suspension bridge and take CA-1 to Muir Beach, where you can check out some incredible views of the Pacific Ocean. From there drive along the coast and through some of California’s finest state parks and soak up all that mother nature has to offer. We recommend driving up to at least Salt Point State Park and checking out this incredible spot (no seriously, check it out). Then the choice is yours: continue driving up the coast or turn around and head home. And of course you’ll never have to worry about getting lost since all Silvercars include complimentary GPS and 4G LTE WiFi.

From LAX: Drive Along The Southern Pacific Coast

Take a short 10-mile trip from Silvercar’s LAX location and go be a kid again at the amusement park and aquarium located on the Santa Monica Pier. Hop off the roller coaster and take Pacific Coast Highway until you arrive in Malibu. Then explore all the town has to offer – from the Lagoon to Colony Road, where beachfront properties are owned by the likes of Tom Hanks, Leonardo DiCaprio, and other celebrities. Less than 1.5 hours away is Santa Barbara where you should park, hop out of your Silvercar (we won’t blame if you’d rather stay inside your awesome ride though), and go relax on the beach.

From MIA: Drive Down To The Florida Keys

Paradise is just hours away from Silvercar’s Miami International Airport location. Head southbound on US-1 and go snorkeling at John Pennekamp Coral Reef State Park – the first undersea park in the U.S. Then roll down the windows (and starting June 29 you can lower the top in a stunning Audi A5 Cabriolet), drive across Seven Mile Bridge, and conclude your trip by watching a sunset at the southernmost point of the continental U.S.

From AUS: Take A Tour Of The Texas Hill Country

You shouldn’t start your adventure on an empty stomach, so head south about 26 miles from Silvercar’s Austin location to the town of Lockhart – aka the barbecue capital of Texas. Then head west to the (almost) ghost town of Luckenbach. There you can stop by Luckenbach’s saloon, general store, dancehall, and the remnants of Luckenbach’s famed post office, which closed back in 1971. Next head north to the town of Burnet, know as the “Bluebonnet Capital of Texas” and along the way enjoy miles and miles of wildflowers. And finally, come on back to Austin and visit the Texas Capitol, which at one time was (inaccurately) billed as the seventh largest building in the world.

From IAD: George Washington Memorial Parkway

Rent your Audi from our recently opened Washington Dulles International Airport location and take the scenic route along the George Washington Memorial Parkway to Mount Vernon, our first president’s estate. Lasting about an hour, you’ll have ample opportunities to take in the sights of the Potomac River. In addition, you can stop along the way at the Pentagon or Arlington National Cemetery. And be sure to take a peek at D.C.’s incredible skyline during your trip.
