Things to do in Houston
One of the most diverse cities in the United States, Houston is home to NASA’s Johnson Space Center, the Texas Medical Center (the largest medical complex in the world), and one of the best food scenes in the nation.
Houston’s Museum District attracts more than 8 million visitors a year, and many have free admission. From Houston’s Museum of Fine Arts to the Children’s Museum of Houston to the Houston Zoo, there’s something for everyone.
“Space City” is also known for many, incredible parks. Make sure to check out Discovery Green, Buffalo Bayou Park, Hermann Park, or Memorial Park – all located within Houston’s inner loop. And if you’re in need of some retail therapy check out The Galleria, one of the largest malls in the country.
In downtown Houston you can catch an Astros (MLB) or Rockets (NBA) game at their respective stadiums. A few miles away is the Astrodome, the “eighth wonder of the world,” the world’s first domed stadium. While the Astrodome is no longer in use today, the Texans (NFL) play next door at NRG Stadium, which has hosted Super Bowls and Final Fours.
Every March NRG Stadium also hosts the Houston Livestock Show and Rodeo, the largest rodeo in the world. With free SiriusXM Satellite Radio in your Silvercar you can listen to some of the biggest names in music who have performed at the Houston rodeo – like Texas natives George Strait, Selena Gomez, and Beyoncé.
